Key Features
The theme comes packed with five core features divided into five separate plugins, each adding a sophisticated functionality to the theme. Without those plugins, this theme would be a plain WordPress blogging theme that includes only the standard WordPress features along with a frontpage slider.
Dynamic One Page Sections
Utilizing the Youxi One Pager plugin, this theme features a one page parallax scrolling design that each consists of several page blocks whose order, placement and properties can be customized dynamically through WordPress admin. Each page block also includes an optional widget area with parallax scrolling background where content can be easily attached using all the available widgets.
Bootstrap 3.0 Integrated Shortcodes
Utilizing the Youxi Shortcodes plugin that is build on Bootstrap 3.0, this theme is powered by a highly customizable shortcodes API that gives users access to a great number of shortcodes whose attributes and output can be extended and customized without limits.
Besides the API, the plugin also provides a user friendly shortcodes editor that’s tightly integrated into the WordPress TinyMCE editor allowing users to generate shortcodes without typing any single line of code. All of this still doesn’t limit the more advanced users to edit the shortcodes manually using the Visual/Text mode, as the plugin doesn’t do anything besides simply generating and inserting the shortcode into the WordPress editor.
Drag and Drop Page Builder
Utilizing the Youxi Page Builder plugin that works seamlessly with the Youxi Shortcodes plugin, this theme offers users the ability to quickly and easily build a complete page helped by a user friendly drag and drop interface that’s integrated with the WordPress editor. Shortcodes are parsed and generated with client side JavaScript without communicating with the WordPress backend, assuring an optimal and blazing fast user experience. The page builder in this theme is configured to be available for building pages and page blocks and as the case with the TinyMCE editor the page builder doesn’t limit the advanced users to edit the output manually via the WordPress editor Visual/Text mode.
Collection of Powerful Widgets
Utilizing the Youxi Widgets plugin, the widgets registered through this plugin is powered by a powerful base code allowing each widget to have different output based on the containing widget area. By utilizing template files specified by the current active theme, users are now possible to use the same widget on different widget areas with different layouts by simply moving the widget between widget areas.
The current version of Youxi Widgets (1.0) plugin comes packed with eight widgets; Flickr, Twitter, Rotating Quotes, Quote, Google Maps, Recent Posts, Video Embed and Social Media.
Portfolio Post Type
Utilizing the Youxi Portfolio plugin that basically only registers the portfolio post type, registers the shortcode and provide the necessary filters and hooks, this theme is configured to integrate seamlessly with this plugin by providing the template files that controls the output of each portfolio item to match the theme’s look and feel. The provided shortcode which is accompanied by a set of options allows users to customize the shortcode output easily.
