Case Study
As a test of the effect that using Twitter Cards has on traffic from Twitter, I used TCWP for 1 month on my portfolio website: hbt.io
In the first month, before installing TCWP, my site had 3500 impressions, from 550 unique visitors.
After that one month, tweeting using Twitter Cards regularily, my site was now receiving 9400 impressions, from 1950 unique visitors. That is a 270% rise in impressions, and a 360% rise in unique visitors. (No other major changes were made during this period)

Setup of TCWP does require you to apply and verfiy your site with the Twitter Developer site, al of which is explained in great detail. Support will also be provided for this if required.
